Colors can be used to change existing conditions. They can expand over gray walls and take on a fitting or inappropriate life of their own. This process has always interested me and so my works are dominated by the interaction of the readable body forms and the reworking through color. The figure is the starting point, but in the painting process it is overgrown by the colors, which I give an important life of their own. There the figure fights against color and I control the process. The results surprise me, and that’s the exciting thing. It is also by all means the laws of chance that controls everything, but deliberately by me, the painter who allows it.
